Hey there, my name is Alaina!

I am the Owner, Baker and Cookie Enthusiast (that’s a title, right?) behind Butter Bakery. 

Baking has been a lifelong passion of mine. I have been baking and experimenting in the kitchen since I could hold a spoon, and I’ve always had a love for exploring different techniques and developing my skills as a baker. 

But let’s start from the beginning: My passion for food and healthy living actually led me first to a career in nutrition, where I was a practitioner for over a decade. My favourite part of this past life was the workshops and recipe development I got to work on. After my nutrition career left me feeling a little burnt out and disengaged, I wanted to get back to my roots and focus on what has always made me happy: being in the kitchen and sharing my delicious creations with everyone. 

I spent a couple years developing my skills in the catering/private chef world but I’ve always known that baking is what makes me the happiest. Even throughout all of my different careers and positions, my free time has always seen me working on my baking and fine-tuning my skills and eventually it became crystal clear that this is what I wanted to pursue as a career.

I have always been a dreamer. For a long time now, I’ve had a vision of building a business for myself that would allow me to invest my time and energy into creating recipes that I was excited about sharing with people. And, for the record, I make really good baked goods. It was a no-brainer that I needed to start a business to share these goods with everyone. 

So here I am; figuring it out! And I’m so excited to have you along for my journey. One thing I know for sure is my recipes have been perfected and my cookies, loaves and butters are truly some of the best you will try. That means the hard part is done, right? The rest will fall into place as I continue to build and grow Butter Bakery. And boy do I have plans to grow this little bakery of mine.
